Oct.
1 was a glorious fall day with sunshine, a slight wind and temperatures
in the 60s and 70s when sixty Kirk members and friends held their
annual golf tournament at Cornonado Golf Course. Everyone gathered
in Hoffius Hall in the evening to honor the winners and enjoy
a barbecue dinner.

Mowery stands by as Jean Mowry aims for the cup. Anyone can win
in this scramble tournament as the teams' gross scores are adjusted
using the Peoria handicap system. |
Dinner
guests were entertained by the Lady Duffers who sang a humorous
composition written by Joyce Hayek. |

Everyone had a good laugh as Jim Hess tried to follow emcee Gary
Clark's instructions for the proper form when hitting a tee shot.
In trying to keep his arm close to his side, wrist straight, head
down, following through, left heel stationary, etc., Jim became
one contorted golfer! |
