10 -The Fellowship Committee sponsored the Kirk’s
first summer supper June 10 at Balboa Pavilion on the lake.
Over 250 people enjoyed a delicious barbeque meal with all the
trimmings.

22 – Villager JoNancy Sundberg provided a wonderful
evening of laughter with animated storytelling following a covered
dish supper hosted by the Kirk Mission Committee. Dottie Isaacson,
moderator, (left) introduced Sundberg who captured the theme “Love
is in the Air” by including her popular spoonerism, Prinderella
and the Cince, Erma Bombeck stories and a potpourri of Version of
Love from Ogden Nash to scripture. |

July 8 – After a dinner of fried chicken and the
fixin’s sponsored by the Worship and Congregational Care
committees, Kirk members, visiting grandchildren and friends enjoyed
barbershop-style singing of Americana songs by the 20-member Chanticleer
chorus. |

Potted plants with butterflies, bright streamers and How to Plant
Your Garden inspirational booklets set the tone for the “In
the Garden” summer supper. |

Caterer and chef D. J. Hitt followed the garden theme with watermelon
centerpieces filled with carved vegetable flowers on a garnished
buffet table of meats and salads. |
July
22 – “In the Garden,” a beat-the-heat
summer buffet sponsored by the Kirk Communication, Evangelism
and Membership committees was enjoyed by 130 Kirk members and
guests. After dinner world traveler and photographer, Clint Sowards,
entertained with a slide show of butterflies, birds and wild animals.
