Kirk Summer Supper, a Scottish Fiesta, August 13, 2008

A good time was had by all at the Presbyerian Kirk in the Pines' "Scottish Fiesta" sponsored by the Kirk Christian Education and Evangelism Committees. The program was centered on Scotland and the upcoming Kirkin' o' the Tartans to be held in September, 2009. However, the supper fare was from Mexico. Ole!
Pictured left to right are Sally Fink, Moderator of Education, Ruth Hamilton, Moderator of Evangelism, and Helen Fisher, featured speaker who previewed the Scottish festivities to occur next year. Linda Brockinton entertained the group with beautiful strains of Celtic music on her mountain dulcimer.	On display around the room were many of the colorful plaid tartans that represent families in the Kirk's congregation. A book table and bulletin board were also featured to help with any family research that might be needed to discover a connection with a particular clan, region or regiment. Families were encouraged to order their tartan and join the processional of tartans next September.
	Ed Russell, sporting his Scottish tam, and Evva, Ed's wife, enjoyed the evening.
