Committee Moderator
A native Texan, Jim Knox received his Bachelor of Science degree
in Pharmacy from Texas Southern University School of Pharmacy.
From there he moved to Waukegan, Illinois, and began a thirty-year
career as a research pharmacist at Abbott Laboratories. During
that time he met and married his wife Karen. Before becoming a
Presbyterian, Jim was a life-long member of the African Methodist
Episcopal Church. Now he and Karen have been members of the Kirk
for six years.
Jim
has served on the Evangelism Committee and has also ushered
during Sunday morning worship services and helped on the Communion
clean-up crew. An active member of the Kiwanis Club of Hot Springs
Village, Jim volunteers as a mentor at Mountain Pine Elementary
School, works as a pharmacist at Charitable Christian Medical
Clinic, and delivers Meals on Wheels.
Stewardship
The Stewardship Committee designs and conducts the Kirk's annual
financial campaign. The committee challenges Kirk members to be
good Christian stewards of the many gifts and blessings they receive
from God by encouraging members to find ways to share their time,
talents and treasures for the work of the Lord at the Kirk. |
