Jacobsmeyer - Planning
and Coordinating
Ray and his wife Harriett moved to the Village in 1996 from Texas,
but Ray’s job in geology and geophysics has taken them all
over the world, including Nigeria and Venezuela. Ray joined the
Session as moderator of the Planning and Coordinating Committee
in November 2005. Ray enjoys singing and has sung in church choirs
for 55 years. He was ordained an Elder in the early 70s in Pittsburgh,
PA, where he served on many committees and was Chair of Buildings
and Grounds for four terms. Besides singing in the Kirk choir,
Ray has served on the Education Committee for eight years, the
Nominating Committee twice, and participates in the Men’s
Association, Men’s Bible Study, Soma, Shepherd Group, Church
Bridge and most of the classes offered. He also does hospital
visitation, is a Christian Friend and serves communion to the
homebound. In his spare time, Ray volunteers at Mountain Pine
School as a tutor, mentor and occasional substitute teacher. The
Jacobsmeyers have two daughters who live in Katy, Texas. l.
Planning
and Coordinating
Change doesn't just happen. It's a process of looking to the future,
making plans, and setting those plans in motion. At the Kirk,
that's done by the Planning and Coordinating Committee. This group
of forward looking folks also coordinates inter-committee relations
and looks at committee function, an interesting and diverse responsibility.
