Dottie
Isaacson -
Mission
Dottie Isaacson grew up in North Dakota and graduated from the
University of North Dakota with a degree in Home Economics. She
married Wayne Isaacson a week later. For 28 years she served alongside
her husband as a military wife, raising three children and volunteering
in their church and community. Following Wayne’s retirement,
they moved to Greenville, Texas where she served as an elder on
the Mission Committee at Grace Presbyterian Church in Greenville.
The
couple moved to Hot Springs Village in 1993, and Dottie was
widowed in 1999. Since joining the Kirk, she has served on the
Administration and Mission Committees and has been a circle
leader, PW moderator, and director of Meals on Wheels. Currently,
she is a Kirk trustee, serves as a P.O.A. Ambassador and volunteers
at Potter’s Clay Thrift Shop.
Mission
The Kirk in the Pines' active mission program provides spiritual,
monetary, and hands-on support for over 25 local, national and
international programs. Kirk members supply more than 32 bags
of groceries each month to various local groups, including a crisis
center for homeless families and a crisis center for abused women
and their children. Through the Christmas Giving Tree the congregation
gives presents to local children who might not otherwise experience
the joy of Christmas. Dedicated offerings help support Presbytery
and Synod missions, Presbyterian colleges and universities, Vera
Lloyd Center and our very active Presbyterian Camp at Ferncliff.
